GS filling fast & TS recce soon!

GS registrations have been arriving thick and fast, with now close to 100 registered for the 2008 event in March next year. An incredible response with still 5 months to the off! So if you are still deciding whether to join us in the “High Country” in 2008 don’t leave the decision too long.
BMW Motorrad, in conjunction with Stay Upright, is considering putting on a 2 day, off-road rider training course on the Friday and Saturday immediately preceding the GS Safari. So the dates being considered are Friday 29 February (yes! 2008 is a leap year) and Saturday 1 March. The course would be for GS riders using their own motorcycles. We would like to hear from those who may be interested in taking part so that we can assess whether we’ll have the numbers to make the exercise worthwhile.

Click this link - BMW Motorrad Off Road Skills Training Courses
which will give you details of the courses and what’s involved. The 2007 courses are unfortunately all “sold out”. To register your interest, simply email us at info@bmwsafari.com with the subject heading “March 08 GS Rider Training”. That gives you two great days next March to perfect your skills followed by 2,000 km to put them into practice!

Next month we’ll be showing you a selection from the range of BMW Motorrad off-road riding gear so that you’ll all be spectacularly clean and well-dressed when you turn up in March 08! As mentioned before the final GS recce is in November so we’ll be bringing you lots of pics of the tracks and trails, the incredible scenery and much more in the end of November update.

TS 2008 recce trip starts 12 October…in just over a week! Even on paper it looks fantastic. So you’ll be able to get a very good idea of what you’ll be riding and what you’ll be seeing when we publish the pics from our trip in the update at the end of this month. Two of our five overnight stops, as we head for the warmth of the north, are planned to be for 2 nights duration with plenty of options to ride, dive, do the laundry… or just laze around! We will be talking to Bikes Only about costs for transporting bikes to our start venue and back from the finish for those who would like details of these options.
